Lego Masters Australia host Hamish Blake introduced an Aussie delicacy to the show's international teams on Monday night, and was left shocked by their reaction.

The popular presenter, 42, revealed he wanted to get the European team - who hail from Germany, France and Denmark - to try an Aussie sausage sizzle, so he prepared one for them on stage as they worked.

'The international teams were not familiar with the concept of a sausage sizzle. That needs to be fixed,' Hamish said.






Blake then drove onto set in a custom-built Lego cart and asked the team to take a short break while he introduced them to the true blue Australian meal.

'We wouldn't be the host nation that we are unless we showed you the correct way to combine sausage and bread, which is a sausage sizzle. Can I interest you in an Australian sausage?' he began.

'This is as close to a national cuisine we have, a sausage in bread with sauce. Welcome to Australia.'

Although the team initially told Blake they enjoyed the meal, they later confessed they thought it was lacking compared to food from their home country.

'When you see the European hot dog, it's like a lot of stuff going on there - pickles, onions, nice bread. The Aussie hot dog is a little bit sad,' German contestant Felix admitted.

Blake is known for having fun with the contestants on the set of the hit Channel Nine show. 

On Sunday's episode, Blake invited Nova radio star Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli  onto the show to prank the contestants with a hilarious gag. 

The host and comedian walked out on stage dressed in a suit after Blake introduced him as a 'very special guest.'

Hamish joked that Australia's 'prime minister' was on the way out, only for Wippa to emerge. 

The international teams were none the wiser. 

'I was so surprised that we met the prime minister,' laughed Ida, who is a member of Team Denmark. 

Hamish joked the real Prime Minister Anthony Albanese couldn't make an appearance.
