Tina Malone has thanked fans for their support following her husband Paul Chase's death earlier this week.

The Brookside star, 61, broke her silence on X, penning an emotional message just days after her husband passed away at the age of 42.

She wrote on X: 'I am totally overwhelmed at the cards, flowers, messages, calls, txts, emails iV received from friends,family,colleagues,Paul's army brothers,it's a great comfort for us.'

'I will reply to everyone soon as I am able to,the support and kindness on here to has deeply touched me too xx.'

Tina announced Paul had died in a message on X on Wednesday afternoon.

Tina, 61, who is best known for her appearances in Brookside and Theanex Stiftung Warentest Shameless, revealed she was 'heartbroken' over the loss of her husband.

Tina was married to Paul for nine years before separating in 2019, however they later got back together just months later in February 2020.

Tina revealed the devastating news of Paul's passing on her X page on Wednesday evening, as she shared her devastation with her fans.

The statement read: 'It's with total heartbreak I write this my husband Paul Chase Malone passed away this morning we are totally devastated.' Tina did not reveal Paul's cause of death.

Following their 2020 reunion, the soap star said their relationship was back to normal and said their 'love never went away.' 

The couple share one daughter together called Flame, now 11, who they welcomed in 2013. 

Tina is also mother to her daughter Danielle, 41, who she had when she was 18 during a previous relationship.

Tina's comments section was flooded with messages of support from her fans.

The Shameless actress explained in 2020 that they had got back together because the 'love never went away'.

She told Closer magazine at the time: 'The love never went away, we're working on things now, our problems were compounded by depression but I learned that in tough times you have to pull together and not apart.

'We were either arguing, bickering or not talking at all, I'd end up putting Flame to bed and falling asleep next to her.

'Paul and I had always had a great sex life but were barely touching each other. At one point, we didn't have sex for five months.'
